Suspicion of Sepsis Insights Dashboard
Sepsis is a severe condition with potentially devastating effects on the lives of patients and their families. However, due to variation in coding practices and fluctuating definitions, until recently the NHS had no accurate, reliable and stable method of measuring the frequency, scale and outcomes of the condition. Imperial College Health Partners (ICHP) through the Patient Safety Collaborative have developed the Suspicion of Sepsis Insights Dashboard which uses an innovative coding method to accurately measure sepsis outcomes. The tool provides data at hospital, regional and national level assisting practitioners to access free, fast, accurate and bespoke data to improve the quality of care.
- 1.Develop a basic knowledge of the Suspicion of Sepsis (SOS) Insights dashboard
- 2.Be aware of the challenges involved in the accurate measurement of sepsis outcomes
- 3.Generate ideas for improvement projects in their own organisation
